Course Outline
Petroleum is the name given to the fluid hydrocarbons which are both the gas and liquid crude oil. Which generally occur in sedimentary rocks like limestone and sandstone and are very rarely found in the igneous and metamorphic rocks. Thus, Petroleum geology is mainly related to sedimentary rocks.
In this course, we will further discuss them in detail and find out how they are formed, where they are found, and how we predict them on terrestrial land and in the marine environment. We will also look at the types of structures that are required to store the hydrocarbons in the subsurface and how to explore them by using different geological and geophysical methods until the production stage.
This Zoe training course will empower you with an in-depth understanding and detailed knowledge of petroleum geology. The skill and experience gained will help you to familiarize yourself with the earth’s subsurface and understand from where these hydrocarbons are driven from the depths of the earth which goes up to 5 km.
As petroleum is one of the most important economies and around 100 million barrels per day is used worldwide, based on its importance everyone should know about its significance and how fascinatingly it is explored.
