Course Overview

Health and Safety Officer (HSO) is an official appointee of an organization to ensure incident and injury free performance of the company with respect to Health & Safety (H&S). S/he is an important individual who not only promotes H&S culture within organization but also educates, guides and serves as a reference expert to the planning and operational staff of the organization.

Along with his seniors and juniors within H&S department, S/he is responsible for minimizing and eliminating both minor and major incidents.  Minor incidents could be injuries requiring first-aid and medical treatment of workers whereas major ones could be fire, explosion, toxic/lethal releases, collapsing of buildings/ scaffolding /structures, resulting in physical disabilities and fatalities.

HSO needs to possess many personal attributes, technical knowledge, and skills to discharge the required responsibilities.  While large and medium organizations are required to formally appoint HSO, small ones are expected to have someone within their management to be aware of H&S regulatory requirements, employees’ expectations and welfare measures on H&S front.

This Zoe training course will empower participants with comprehensive knowledge of requirements, skills and attributes for a Health & Safety Officer.

Employees and management appreciate it sooner or later when such contagious proactive safety initiatives and efforts start bringing about better business sustainability
  • It is statistically seen that companies with dynamic HSO’s who undergo basic and continual professional development pass on a strong safety culture to fellow employees and managers.
