Course Overview

What is well integrity management?

Well integrity training was one of the core functions for the establishment of the Well Integrity Forum (WIF), which was established in 2007. The members of the WIF agree that there is an urgent need for well-integrity training of the key professionals working with well Integrity both onshore and offshore.

This course will train on advanced well integrity management, and it is well designed to provide all those who shall take it with the knowledge to comprehensively investigate risks and faults of well Integrity. All the participants have the chance and opportunities to share and to correct the concept that exists about well integrity management. The advanced training and learning course shall discuss proper ways, techniques, and methods that can be used for decision-making to provide certainty within a company.

The knowledge and skills that are required to make critical decisions anywhere in the Well life cycle is a very important tool to have in the arsenal. The knowledge is not only for the WIM personnel purpose but as well as for economic value. The course will majorly focus on the Well Integrity Management Systems and methods that can be used in any organisation and with different teams. Well failure models, how to establish well failure modes, integrity barriers, how to create efficient Well integrity are discussed.

What is a well barrier envelope?

The course will deepen the already held knowledge of Well Integrity Management. The modules will develop the necessary skills required for understanding a well barrier envelope. You will learn designing, developing the knowledge required for operating, and building on the maintenance techniques of Well equipment. Zoe’s main objective remains to ensure permanent and safe containment of all wellbore mechanisms and tools.

It will highlight the following:

  • Different techniques to reduce or eliminate risks
  • Awareness of regional and international standards and regulations
  • Focus on the main areas of well integrity management and assurance
  • Interrogation of all the risks associated with different types of well integrity issues
  • Procedures, responsibilities, and roles of key personnel involved in the Well lifecycle
  • Different stages of Well design, operations, and production of oil and gas
  • The production supervisor’s duties concerning well Integrity

 Course Objectives

The main objective of this advanced Zoe course is to enable participants to –

  • Thoroughly understand and be knowledgeable of the guidelines and standards that should be observed and adhered to for effective Well integrity
  • Be fully aware of well Integrity and associated issues and how they are managed by various professionals
  • Apply advanced tools and techniques in well Integrity to enhance safety level and minimise risks of occupational hazard
  • Predict all risks that could cause damage to well Integrity
  • Appreciate well design and annulus construction
  • Get deep knowledge on how to maintain equipment for safe and effective operation
  • Train other professionals on important aspects of well Integrity
  • Contribute significantly to organisational development and credibility

Training Methodology

Training shall be facilitated by experienced professionals from the relevant fields. The training shall be partly theoretical and partly practical through exercises and case studies. Role-plays are encouraged to make the training more participatory. At Zoe, all courses follow the Learn-Apply-Review Model of absorbing and retaining information for workplace success.
