Course Overview
Did you know that improper hot tapping procedures contribute to 30% of pipeline incidents, including fires and explosions due to welding failures or pressure miscalculations? This reality underscores the critical importance of specialized training in hot tapping and plugging procedures to ensure safe execution of in-service modifications on live pipelines while maintaining operational continuity.
Our comprehensive Hot Tapping Gas Pipeline and Plugging Procedure in Petroleum Industry Course equips professionals with the skills needed to safely execute hot tapping operations, manage risks, and ensure compliance with API 2201 standards, transforming theoretical knowledge into practical safety protocols for measurable business impact.
Why This Course Is Required?
Hot tapping and plugging training is critical for maintaining pipeline integrity and operational continuity in the petroleum industry, where shutdowns for repairs can cost millions daily. Since stoppage of gas flow in large installations and companies have huge national and global economic implications, this procedure of hot tapping and isolating the affected portion of the area of interest by inserting at least two plugs one each on either side through the tapped holes is resorted to. This whole operation is highly risky and is fraught with the potential for very serious incidents like fire and explosion.
Therefore, only trained workers and supervisors must do this job under the close supervision of technical managers. With global energy demand increasing, this course equips teams to safely execute in-service modifications on live pipelines, minimizing production interruptions and ensuring compliance with API 2201 and ASME standards.
